At 10:08 AM on October 1, the C8218 high speed train departed from Platform 1 at Yinchuan Railway Station, traveling via Shizuishan Railway Station towards Huinongnan Railway Station. This marks the opening of the Huinong-Yinchuan section of the newly constructed Baotou-Yinchuan High Speed Railway, officially connecting Shizuishan City in Ningxia to the national high speed railway network and further enhancing the railway network layout in Western China.

　　The Huinong-Yinchuan section operates at a maximum speed of 250 km/h. It is part of China's "eight vertical and eight horizontal" high-speed railway network, forming a key segment of the Beijing-Lanzhou corridor. It connects with the Yinchuan-Lanzhou High Speed Railway and Yinchuan-Xi'an High Speed Railway, making it a vital part of the national railway network. The opening of this section significantly improves travel convenience for people along the route and promotes high-quality development of the Yellow River economic belt. It also plays an important role in maintaining national unity and supporting the implementation of the new Western Development strategy.
